Finding Rest in a Busy World
If I could figure out a business model for making a full time salary by just keeping busy, I'd be a multi-millionaire. I'm not trying to brag here, but I'm really good at not resting.
Many times I think of what it would be like to live in the early 1800's or 1900's when life seemed so simple. The truth is, if I lived back then, I would probably find a way to organize the chicken coop.
I'm holding onto Matthew 11:28 today,
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Case in point: As my 2 year old and 4 week old are currently sleeping, my husband just said, "So, you are going to stay up and write a blog post about resting?"
Need I say more?

Jess, I have been in the same place. I keep thinking back to the Proverbs 31 woman who burned her candle at both ends. Then I realized that at that time, it probably meant that she went to bed at 9 PM and didn't get up until about 7 AM. Yes, I think I'd like to go back to a time like that. But then again, no bloggy friends, so it just might not be worth it.... and yes, it really is 2 AM here so I'm obviously not resting tonight. :-)
